May 1, 2013
Dear CCHS Classmate,
Reunion time is approaching: September is only four months away! Your Reunion
Committee is excited and we hope that you are as well. September 20-22, 2013 is
shaping up to be one unforgettable weekend!
This letter provides you with a schedule of the events which are being planned for the
weekend.
Friday evening 20 September |
Bruce and Phyllis Maurer have graciously offered to host a Welcome Reception at their home on Bruce Road in Concord. |
Saturday Morning 21 September |
Take a tour of our CCHS building which will soon be replaced by a newly constructed high school. |
Saturday Afternoon 21 September |
A trip down Memory Lane! Take a school bus ride through Concord and West Concord and see what has (or hasn’t) changed. |
Saturday Evening 6:00 to 11:00 pm 21 September |
Dinner and Celebration at the Concord Country Club |
Sunday Morning 22 September |
Drop in for coffee at Ruth Elliott’s family home on River Road in Carlisle. Another generous offer from Ruthie to complete our memorable weekend. |
Some of you live nearby, but for those of you coming from a distance, we have some hotel
accommodations that might work for you. Attached is a list of possible
locations, and there are
also several Bed & Breakfasts in both Concord and nearby communities.
There are several classmates we have not located yet, and their names are listed below. If you
can help us find them, please email Jeanne at jcahillsteiner@comcast.net so we can reach them,
and feel free to pass on this letter to them. We will send a full roster of the class to all classmates
in June.

The Reunion Committee has been working hard to plan a memorable 50th Reunion Weekend,
while keeping costs manageable. We know that many classmates will have significant travel
and hotel expenses in order to attend. The Reunion expense for the weekend will include the
Country Club Dinner and Celebration, and smaller charges for the daytime activities.
We were recently surprised and pleased to receive two anonymous donations to help defray the
costs of our weekend for all classmates who attend. This made us think that other class members
may also want to make a donation toward helping to make this weekend more affordable for all.
If you would like to donate, your contribution could remain anonymous, or sent in memory of,
or as a tribute to, a classmate or teacher. We would be happy to publish that on both the website
and a Memory Book which we plan to have for you at the Reunion.
Another more fanciful way to contribute is to purchase an ad on our class website:
www.cchs1963.com. See Steve Winter’s example on the site, but know that your ad could be
humorous or for a real product or service. We hope you’ll have some fun with this! Ads cost
$50 to post, but any amount you choose to send will be accepted and appreciated. Ads should be
emailed to Steve at steve@greatmaine.com.
In early June we will send you the finalized schedule and costs, as well as the class roster and a
questionnaire for our Memory Book. A few things you could help us with now:
1. In order to plan most efficiently, we need to now have a preliminary count of
attendees for the Saturday night celebration at the Concord Country Club. Please let
Jeanne know via email if you are planning to attend and if there will be one or two
attending.
2. If you have any old school photos, memorabilia, etc. to share, please scan and email to
Steve Winter.
3. Are you working on your web page? At our class website you can listen to some old
tunes for inspiration, and also note some recent updates.
4. If you would like to donate to our Reunion weekend or purchase an ad, please make
checks out to: “CCHS Class of 1963 Reunion” and send to Karen Redford Smethurst,
12 Buttonwood Road, Marshfield, MA 02050 by June 1st.
We are all looking forward to seeing you in September!
